We've been taking our Subaru here for a couple years. Before this we took our Toyota to Tokyo Auto. They are very capable, trustworthy and reasonably priced. We've had brakes, oil changes and major services done. We will definitely br back.

The first time in fifteen years, I've felt that I got honest service on my car. They are straightforward in stating the work that is needed and thorough in taking care of the job. Tokyo Automotive, sorry you have to fix a car that is old and falling apart, but I'm a poor grad student and can't afford a better ride. Despite not being a high-paying customer, thank you for treating me with decency and integrity.

Fast, convenient, and cheap. This car shop has been taking good care of my 2007 Honda Fit for a good while and they get the job done. I recommend this place to anyone with car troubles.

Went there for service on my Lexus RX. Very reasonable priced and honest work. They do what they said. It is near my work, so very convenient for me. Works for me on their service and price.

I took my Kia and Honda here and have been very pleased. They do good work quickly and at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this mechanic to anyone.

My whole family has been taking all of our cars and trucks here for years. Honest trustworthy people.

Another reason we continue to go to and recommend Tokyo Automotive -- should be in the dictionary as an additional definition to "trustworthy" and "ethical".My mother-in-law's Toyota Highlander had a couple of recall notices so we had to take it to the Toyota dealer to do the necessary recall repairs. Dealer did the recall repairs and then told us that it needed a new water pump and they would replace it while we waited. Estimate was something like $400. Husband said no. Dealer insisted that it needed a new water pump. And then he added that we should have something else (don't recall what it was) fixed "as long as we're in there" since "it would have to be replaced *eventually*" and "it's a difficult part to get to" ... also another $400 or so for a total of nearly $800 in "necessary" and "recommended" repairs.Husband refused and told him we'd take it to our mechanic, Tokyo Automotive, to have it looked at and repaired if necessary. Dealer actually said we would be taking a big risk by not having it replaced right there and then -- very pushy. Husband thanked the dealer for the recall repairs and left. If it was truly necessary and going to cost $$$ then, without hesitation, we'd give Tokyo Automotive the business since we trust their work.Took it to Tokyo Automotive and explained what the dealer mechanic said. Aki looked it over thoroughly and gave me the diagnosis: water pump is fine. Everything working as it should. Nothing to repair or replace. Seriously.

In regards to the leak, now that it's been a few months and a few visits later there is still no sign of leakage from your mother-in-law's car. Toyota, post 2002, started making into their water pumps what they call a "weeping hole" which is essentially a hole with a ball bearing in it and behind it a XX lbs. spring. In certain over pressure situations such as extremely hot days, (like the day back in July you visited me first for this) it's designed to let a small amount of coolant out. Reason for this is they'd rather let it leak a little than for the water to attack the bearing in the front of the water pump. It's an actual Toyota TSB.Besides your Mom-in-law's car only has 25K on it. No way! I've never seen a water pump on a Toyota go out at that mileage!

I always service my G35 at Tokyo Automotive. I trust Tokyo with my car! Been going here for maybe the past five years. They always have great prices on service. It can get crowded on Saturdays so hopefully you have a ride to leave your car until the afternoon. The owner has an accent, so he might be hard to understand... but it's not horrible. Glad to support a local family owned business. Tokyo was recommended to me by my parents and I now recommend Tokyo to all my friends.

+I went here instead of my normal place because of proximity.+The owner is a man of few words.+They didn't steal my CDs like the Toyota Dealer did several years back. +The change in my coin drawer was all there, too.+My car was finished on time.+My car runs well. +Trustworthy, just needs to be more informative through communication.

Everything positive about this shop is true. Honest, reliable, knowledgeable, experienced...values you would want in an auto repair shop. They use genuine OEM parts, at times charging less than half off the dealers (replaced engine mounts, replaced tranny, CEL diagnostics,) on our stable of aging Japanese imports. I find it comforting knowing that if I bought a used Japanese vehicle it would be treated as if I was the original owner. Referred here from a friend who had been coming here for years. Now I'm one of those people.
