Fast, convenient, and cheap. This car shop has been taking good care of my 2007 Honda Fit for a good while and they get the job done. I recommend this place to anyone with car troubles.

Thanks for the great comments. We always strive to make our customers happy.I wouldn't exactly call myself cheap, fair yes. Cheaper than dealer, yes. Won't try to sell you a bunch of crap you don't need (like the dealer), yes. Thanks.

The folks at Tokyo Auto are efficient, very thorough, & helpful. They have always been helpful and honest. They repair only what needs to be repaired. If you need work done or if they have recommendations for your car, then they will discuss the pros and cons with you. I am always confident that they give 100% on every job they do and have nothing but the utmost respect for their work ethic!

Sanya thanks for your great review! Come see us when your new car stops having free oil changes!BTW your old matrix is enjoying it's second career as the shop gopher.

I got my 2009 Toyota Camry maintained up in San Francisco. On my drive down, the check engine light turned on, so I pulled over on the I5 and found Transmission Fluid everywhere! Shoooooot... I did not want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere.Luckily, I made it down to my destination (Orange County) . The idiots at Tustin Toyota charged me $112 to look at the car and told me I needed a new transmission. Cost: $5000-$6000... WTF?! Nooope, not happening....so,I dropped by Tokyo Automotive Repair and was first greeted by Allen and told him of my situation. He assured me that worst case scenario would cost me significantly less!I dropped off my car the very next day. Tatsu, his dad and company are truly the most genuine people I have met in a very long time. not only were they super swamped, but It was Memorial Day weekend! however, they made sure to keep me updated and got my car in perfect running order a whole day before it was promised! Tatsu even picked me up from my house! They told me exactly what was done to the car and told me to bring it back if any problems arise. Its been one week now and Ive made it back home to San Francisco.Oh! And Tatsu called me a few days after to follow up and make sure I made it back safely! Seriously, Who does that nowadays? Super genuine, super honest, super people!Tokyo Automotive Repair = Ichiban! They got my vote!

That shop in SF did you a dis-service by (1.) even recommending a ATF service at 50K to begin with and (2.) by over-filling the trans. I think they should reimburse you $112 you spent at Tustin Toyota and the monies I charged you.Modern Toyota Transmissions with Type WS (World Standard) ATF has longer service intervals than the old Type IV.Thanks for your great review! Glad you made it home safe. Come see us again when you're in town!

FINALLY, I found an auto shop I can trust!!! I have two cars, both Japanese makes, and they've been on the road a while. Naturally, things are going to break now and then, so I've been keeping my eyes open for a good mechanic. Luckily, I stumbled on Tokyo Automotive, and they'll be getting all my business from now on. They really know what they're doing and they talk straight. Their prices are extremely reasonable as well. I couldn't ask for anything more!!!

Took my 2005 Prius in (which has 160k miles and just drove through a 70MPH-wind sandstorm coming back from Coachella) because the Check Engine light came on, so I was quoted $45 by the younger guy and left my car there around noon. At almost 5:00PM, the older gentlemen called me and said that I needed a new MAF sensor, which was $180 ($40 less than the dealer), and one hour of install labor at $90. After doing five minutes of research, I decided to take my chances and order a used part off eBay for $20 and install it myself with some YouTube how-to videos. While driving my car home from Tokyo Automotive, the Check Engine light turned off! I will still replace the part when my eBay package arrives, but in the meantime, they actually fixed my car just by inspecting it and probably cleaning the part they recommended for replacement, and a potential $270 service got (temporarily) resolved for only $45! God bless Tokyo Automotive, as I will now be taking my old Prius there for all repairs, and they probably hate me for pulling my car out and attempting the repair myself, but little do they know they inadvertently fixed my problem by just inspecting what was wrong!

Jansen,Thanks for your great review. Just a few tips on your prius. I noticed it had a K&N filter on it. No big problem there, I'm actually a fan of K&N products. But I noticed an egregious amount of red K&N oil on the filter. That can potentially gum up your Air Flow Meter setting a P0171 (system lean) code. The actual cause of your particular P0171 this time though wasn't the huge amount of K&N oil, but it was debris on the Air Flow Meter. My fear, and also the reason we tried to sell you the sensor, is that the debris contaminated the Air Flow Meter/Sensor. Given that the Air filter sits right above the sensor, a lot of home mechanics (even experienced ones) fall into the trap of debris from the old/dirty filter falling in.Regards.

We've been taking our Subaru here for a couple years. Before this we took our Toyota to Tokyo Auto. They are very capable, trustworthy and reasonably priced. We've had brakes, oil changes and major services done. We will definitely br back.

The first time in fifteen years, I've felt that I got honest service on my car. They are straightforward in stating the work that is needed and thorough in taking care of the job. Tokyo Automotive, sorry you have to fix a car that is old and falling apart, but I'm a poor grad student and can't afford a better ride. Despite not being a high-paying customer, thank you for treating me with decency and integrity.
